Where Does Growth Begin?
Organizations constantly talk about growth, development, and change. Strategies are updated, structures redesigned, and targets raised.
But all too often, one essential question is forgotten: What actually makes a person change? Real change doesn’t happen just because it’s decided. It doesn’t start from a slide deck, a development meeting, or an annual goal.
Change starts within the individual — and with the experience that it feels meaningful, possible, and personally relevant. At this point, understanding a person’s motivations and psychological preferences becomes crucial.
If we want to support change, we must know what truly drives someone:
* Do they seek stability or growth?
* Do they move toward people or retreat into the background?
* Are they motivated by influence or by achievement?
MaPP7 enables this understanding.
When a person’s internal drivers and working styles are made visible, we can align support and expectations in the right way. Not everyone needs to change in the same way — or at the same pace. But everyone needs a path that feels possible for them.
The obstacle to growth is often not ability, but a false assumption about what moves a person. When we understand that, we can build change that actually happens — not just in the org chart.
